The Woman Behind the Lens
Nice to meet you, my name is Evelyn!
I'm the 5th Evelyn in a long line of strong, empowered, creative, artistic women, yet I am the only one left.
My grandmother, Mary Evelyn, recieved her PhD in Education and was an Oil Painter; she passed away when I was 7 years old.
My mother, Evelyn Anne, was a photographer and strong southern woman who loved horseback riding and good margaritas;
she passed away when I was 11 years old.
My daughter, Evelyn Ryann, was only with us for 3 weeks in the NICU, yet she managed to make me
a stronger and more determined woman in the short time that she was here on this earth.
After her loss, I realized that I needed a BIG change.
In 2015, I quit my full time job as a Program Director for Recreation & Wellness at a local university
and began freelancing as a crocheter and photographer. Although I have photographed everything...
weddings, engagements, families, portraits, fitness, events, animals, nature, etc, etc. I LOVE connecting with other creatives, getting to know them, photographing their process and seeing a their ideas come to life in a photographs
that represent them (and their brand) in a positive and empowering way.
I'm naturally a very positive and open person (permanent rose colored glasses for sure...);
this allows me to connect easily with others- letting them open up & be themselves with no judgement.
I want to get to know my clients, I want to be a friend- not just a photographer...
Not only do I want to be your friend, I want to see you succeed,
I want to support you and this is why I also focus on offering quality yet affordable photography
services to small businesses, freelancers, makers, artists & entrepreneurs.
I cherish every single photo that I still have of my mother, daughter and grandmother and
I truly believe that loss has allowed me to better connect with others and understand what they need from their photographer (and their friend).
I have embraced the fact that I'm a creative soul who's meant to help, connect with, support and empower those around me and
feel lucky that I have had the opportunity to do so on a regular basis.
I would love the chance to meet you, speak with you and help you capture whatever moments
you want to have and keep for years to come!
